Awards - Practice Placements

As a component of Work-Integrated Learning (WIL), the IfE also offers Practice placements as part of its diverse short programmes – Awards. These practice placements provide valuable hands-on experience for course participants. Practice placements bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. Through this practice component, course participants, get to witness first-hand the challenges and dynamics of the classroom. The practice placement incorporates self-reflection on the experiences gained so as to ensure that course participants critically analyse their practice, identify areas for improvement, and enhance their self-awareness as future educators. It promotes continuous learning and professional development.

Assessment of the Practice Placement

This component is assessed by practice visitors who conduct classroom observations and support the course participants’ development through feedback and recommendations on practice. Course participants will also be assessed on the classroom observation and the documentation of their practice placement file.
