Educational leader, lecturer, and curriculum developer whose work bridges school leadership, research, and professional training
Sylvana Zammit Pulo is an educational leader, lecturer, and curriculum developer whose work bridges school leadership, research, and professional training. She holds a PhD in Educational Leadership from the University of Warwick, focusing on e-leadership in Maltese schools. Currently a Deputy Head of School, she lectures on emotional literacy, multicultural education, and experiential learning, contributes to Erasmus+ projects, and serves on the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority’s Quality Assurance Committee.
This study explores how school e-leadership in Malta has evolved, focusing on its role in quality assurance and school improvement. Based on interviews with head teachers, findings show that while technology enhances communication and efficiency, its strategic and pedagogical use remains limited. The study highlights tensions between digital management and relational leadership, proposing a balanced model of e-leadership and recommending professional learning, policy support, and equity-focused frameworks for sustainable practice.
