Senior Lecturer II at MCAST, Malta
Theresa Demanuele Montebello had graduated as an accountant and worked in the industry for some years. She has transitioned into the teaching profession and is currently employed as a Senior Lecturer II at MCAST, Malta. She achieved her Masters in Research in 2020. She is currently pursuing the Professional Research Doctorate (DRes) on the Competitive Behaviour of Small Organisations at MCAST in Malta.
Preliminary results emerging from this research study indicate that exposure to different forms of education plays a significant role in an entrepreneur’s ability to enhance organisational performance. The conclusions of this research study highlight the need for different educational programmes as a measure to encourage and support female entrepreneurship in Malta. Importance is placed on the training of existing and new educators, encouraging the integration of business and enterprise education with other subjects such as Maltese, Maths, English, and IT. Results highlight the need for exposure to financial literacy, business and entrepreneurship education, and enterprise skills, as well as the need for educational programmes and microcredentials related to accounting, tax matters, funding, IT skills, and digital marketing.
