Overall Objectives and Outcomes

The English Language Teaching module offers a 30-hour program for prospective teachers, blending in-person, synchronous, and asynchronous sessions. It covers an overview of ELT history and methodologies as well as reviewing language acquisition theories. English language lesson planning and assessment techniques will be thoroughly explored. Sessions will focus on learners developing the four language skills (speaking, reading, writing and listening), acquiring better vocabulary, and applying grammar rules and structures using a multimodal literacy approach. The integration of technology for pedagogical purposes will also be tackled.
