This two-hour session focuses upon the importance of reading and writing. It helps participants to identify the reasons why one reads and writes. It exposes participants to different reading genres/ types. The session also provides different reading and writing suggestions for different ages and readers, to enable participants to find ways and means of encouraging their children to read and write.

This hands-on workshop focuses on different genres of books and targets children of different age groups. It also provides the participants with ideas and activities that they could try out with the children.

This session aims to provide parents with awareness of children's literacy development, ways of how to monitor their child's progress and different support strategies that encourage their child to develop language skills. Various ways of how parents can support their child's literacy progress and their involvement are discussed.
