Programme Description

This programme provides participants with the prospect to develop their knowledge and competences in vocational content, pedagogy and assessment. It aims to provide those within or wishing to join the education sector with the necessary tools and competences to teach effectively in the secondary and vocational sector whilst fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all learners. Within this programme, learners shall also be given the opportunity to develop the core knowledge and skills required in the media literacy sector including topics such as photography, publishing, filming techniques, and media ethics.

Entry Requirements

Applicants are required to be in possession of the following:

Three (3) Ordinary Levels at MQF Level 3 (minimum Grade C or 5) in Maltese, English Language and Mathematics awarded by MATSEC or an equivalent examination body recognised by the Institute for Education.

AND

A minimum of one of the following:

An awarded MATSEC Certificate or equivalent (MQF Level 4) including a Grade C or better in English or Maltese at Advanced Level; OR
An MQF Level 4 vocational qualification with a minimum of 120 ECTS in Creative Media and Production, Photography, Film Studies, Art and Design or a cognate area deemed relevant by the Institute for Education; OR
Three subjects at Advanced Level (MQF Level 4) including a grade C or better in English or Maltese and another subject, and at least a grade D in a third subject; OR
Two subjects at Advanced Level (MQF Level 4) at grade C or better including English or Maltese and three intermediate subjects with a minimum grade D.
