Minimum Entry Requirements

Applicants are required to be in possession of the following:

1. An MQF Level 3 (minimum Grade 5 or C) in Maltese, English Language and Mathematics awarded by MATSEC or an equivalent examination body recognised by the Institute for Education*;

AND

2. A minimum of one of the following:

a)  An awarded MATSEC Certificate or equivalent (MQF Level 4) including a grade C or better at Advanced Level in one of the subjects taught in the primary curriculum; OR

b)  An MQF Level 4 vocational qualification with a minimum of 120 ECTS in Early Childhood Education and Care; OR

c) Three subjects at Advanced Level (MQF Level 4) including two subjects with a grade C or better, one of which must be a subject taught in the primary curriculum, and a third subject with a grade D or better; OR

d) Two subjects at Advanced Level (MQF Level 4) at grade C or better including one of the subjects taught in the primary curriculum, and three intermediate subjects with a minimum grade D; OR

e) An MQF Level 5 qualification with a minimum of 60 ECTS in Inclusive Education.

Applicants applying under the Institute for Education’s maturity clause are asked to refer to Section 2.2. of the Admission Regulations.
* Applicants not in possession of an MQF Level 3 may also present a Grade D or better at Advanced Level (MQF Level 4) or a Grade C or better at Intermediate Level (MQF Level 4) for the mentioned subjects.
